Normally I try to write something creative and entertaining in these mailings, but I'm too tired. Instead, I will simply list some of the reasons you should come to the park tomorrow. (I love making lists. They save me the trouble of having to write proper paragraphs.) So here it is, the top ten reasons you should attend Uptown Friday Nights tomorrow, or if you prefer, "Why should I go to Uptowns? Let me count the ways."

10) The Swing Crew is playing. Enough said.

9) The Cedar Rapids Jaycees will be presenting donations to the Green Square Park rennovation project, the Cedar Rapids Police K-9 unit for the purchase of a bulletproof vest for one of the dogs, and the Madge Phillips center. We look forward to the opportunity to give back to the community that has been so good to us, and we would like you to be there.

8) AT&T; Broadband is taping the entire show to be aired on TV10 during the month of July. If you've ever seen a music video with live concert footage, that is what it will be like tomorrow...crazy fans, a big stage, and camera crews all over the place.

7) Katheryn Foxx from Mix 96 1/2 will be announcing the winner of the Eric Clapton tickets in the Summer Of Fun contest. That's right, CLAPTON tickets. To the winner, let me just say in advance, I'm jealous.

6) We set an Uptown Friday Nights attendance record last week with the LARGE Midgets. It was so much fun, we want to do it again. The number to beat is 1431.
