The Cedar Rapids Jaycees Friday Night Dream Makers Program will surpass $250,000 in donations to local community crganizations this Friday with the LARGE Midgets Friday, July 6th.

The Friday Night Dream Makers program donates proceeds raised from the Cedar Rapids Jaycees Uptown Friday Nights, a ten-week concert series in Greene Square Park from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. every Friday night beginning Memorial Day weekend until the last Friday in July.

The Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation and Witwer Senior Center will receive donations from the Cedar Rapids Jaycees on Friday, July 6 to surpass $250,000 in donations to local charities given out through the Jaycees Friday Night Dream Makers program. Other local organizations benefiting from Friday Night Dream Maker donations this year include: American Cancer Society, American Heart Association, American Red Cross, Animal Welfare Foundation, Big Brother Big Sisters, Catherine McAuley Center, Cedar Valley Humane Society, Christmas Toyshop, Clothe-A-Child, Greene Square Meals, Habitat for Humanity, HD Youth Center, The Heart Connection, Junior Achievement, Make-A-Wish Foundation, Meals on Wheels, Mollys Closet, Rapids AIDS Project, University of Iowa Dance Marathon, and Waypoint.

The Cedar Rapids Jaycees established its Friday Night Dream Makers program in 2001, as another way to donate funds to local non-profit organizations.

Each year, recipients of the Friday Night Dream Makers program are nominated and selected by a vote of the general membership of the Cedar Rapids Jaycees. This process enables every member of the Jaycees to have a voice in the organizations charitable giving, and ensures that gifts go to causes which Jaycee members feel strongly about or are involved.
