Wicked Liz & the Bellyswirls formed in 1999. Bassist Bob Kelly and brother Leo (guitar) began jamming in their parents basement. One afternoon, an old friend Liz Townsend, stopped by and sang a few tunes. This became a regular occurrence and soon we were on the look for a drummer. A few calls around the local music scene turned up Greg Hipskind. Greg came highly recommended from several other drummers and was the perfect match for the brothers, joining in on the ribbing and keeping us in line when needed.

We started booking gigs and our local following grew quickly due to the band�s gregarious nature, energetic live performances, and Liz�s show-stopping vocals. We wish we could say we had a legion of �fans� but it really feels more like we have hundreds of new friends!

Along the way we�ve opened for Richard Marx, Corey Feldman ( star of movies such as Goonies & Stand By Me), Chris Schaeffer of the Why Store and just recently for REO SPEEDWAGON.

In 2002 we released our second CD titled INABA. All the road work helped us mature as a unit and we were really able to cut loose in the studio! The result is we flash a little more of our rock and blues side.

Currently we are writing more material, seeking record industry representation and touring markets like Chicago, Indianapolis, Minneapolis as well as local Iowa\Illinois cities like Dubuque, Iowa City, Macomb, Muscatine, Des Moines, Ames, Cedar Falls and the Quad Cities.
