Funk 101 is an 11-member funk and soul band based in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Funk 101 delivers a high-impact show featuring the soulful lyrics of K.D. Sims and Jillian Noah, backed by the hottest horn section around!

Funk 101 was established in November of 2003, consisting of music educators and other Cedar Rapids Metro area professionals. Our music is inspired by Tower of Power, James Brown, Kool & the Gang, KC and the Sunshine Band, Marvin Gaye, Stevie Wonder, Earth Wind and Fire, and many others.
