Big Wooden Radio is a roots-based acoustic band featuring tight harmony vocals. Their eclectic sets are highlighted by original compositions as well as unique arrangements of traditional and comtemporary songs. Their "typical" set will swing through West Texas, high step in New Orleans, jump a Kansas City blues, take a back road past Bakersfield, and ramble the Appalachian high country.
The band has opened for national touring acts such as Wilco, The Neville Brothers, The Nashville Bluegrass Band, The Del McCoury Band, Dan Hicks, and Big Sandy and His Flyright Boys. Their music has been used as a soundtrack for the ABC Network's Emmy Award winning news program, 20/20.
Big Wooden Radio recently released their third album, "Visiting Normaltown", which has received national airplay and high reviews. The band even received a mention in the March 30, 2000 issue of Rolling Stone Magazine. |
